Notes:

The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is an annual event, held each year as part of an early morning patriotic program. This event was designed after the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, first held by President Eisenhower in 1953. The event originated as a time of personal reflection and rededication to God, as well as opportunity to restore and reaffirm the spiritual heritage of America. Since the inception of the National Prayer Breakfast, several U.S. states and cities and other countries have established their own annual prayer breakfast events. Blanding has adopted this event as part of our continuing efforts for liberty.

The Parade is the biggest event of the day. Please help us celebrate our liberty this year by entering a float in the parade. Family floats can be the best. We encourage you to pull your family together and build a float for the parade. Parade Chairman Al Clarke - 979-2486 cell or 678-3334 home.

The Celebrate America Pageant is a fast-moving patriotic program, filled with talent in a jubilant celebration of America, with a band, song, skit, dance and stories. You are invited to come in out of the heat, relax and enjoy this celebration of America. Admission is Free.

The 118th Sapper is an elite combat engineering unit. In our celebration this year, we will be honoring our National Guard, 118th Sapper Unit that is being deployed to Afghanistan.

Food Booths are welcome. Contact Shirley Clarke 678-8171 days or 678-3334 home.

Game and Craft Booths are encouraged.Contact Judy Cottrell 678-3222 x115 or 678-2262.
